Help John through his battle with cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Karen is helping me as I’m starting this gofundme to help my brother in law John Modica as he battles with cancer!
The cancer John has started in the lymph nodes. It is called lymphoma. Lymphoma cannot be treated with surgery, only chemotherapy and immune therapy… And that is because lymphoma travels… So it is in many areas of his body and they couldn’t possibly surgically remove all of it. There are 50 types of lymphoma and they are not quite sure which kind John has yet. This is a very aggressive cancer and probably started only a few months ago but progressed very quickly. If left untreated, John would have weeks to may be a couple of months to live… Which is why they need to get started on treatment for him right away. They will treat with the intent to cure. They are hopeful. We all are… This will not be easy for John as it is a very intensive treatment and more challenging because John has diabetes. It’s too early to tell the success rate because we are waiting on more test to find out what type of lymphoma it is. John will have his treatment at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. They specialize in lymphoma. John will most likely have 4 to 6 months of treatment and the reason why they want to do it as an inpatient is because the first week is very dangerous due to the aggressiveness of the treatment. John is in good spirits given the situation. So many people have reached out to him with prayers and love and support. I am reaching out to all of you for donations towards uninsured medical bills and personal expenses.
Please, let’s rally around John and help him through this very difficult journey. Thank you so much for your support.
