Help John pay off his medical bills

Hello Everyone,
As you may or may not know, my long time roommate and best friend John Venable has recently gone through some pretty serious health issues. Before explaining, it's worth noting that he has done his part in battling through testing and surgery to make it back home to Lafayette, where he is undergoing rehab at home. He has done his part, and now I feel we have the chance to do ours in helping our friend back to normalcy.
About 2 months ago, John returned home from work with horrible nausea and light headedness, and spent about 3 days dealing with what we thought to be bad food poisoning. After those 3 days he was finally able to get up and start eating again, but couldnt seem to shake off a lot of the headache/fatigue. After another couple weeks of stagnancy, his memory began to worsen, and peripheral vision began fading. This is when we finally decided to admit him into the hospital out here in Anderson, SC for testing. At this point, it was determined that over those 2-3 weeks of sickness, John had suffered multiple strokes due to an infected heart valve, and would require open heart surgery. Fortunately, the surgery was successful and the valve was repaired, and he now back home in Lafayette, LA rehabbing back to full health. This is where we come in.
If you know John at all, you know that he's the last person to ever ask for help in any situation. He has always fought his own battles, which is something I've always greatly admired about him. But this time I'm stepping in.
He has a medical bill of $42,000. He was out of work for over a month leading up to the surgery and will be out at least another 3 months rehabbing. This is not a number that either of us would ever expect to hit but anything towards this goal would help reduce how much he has to pay monthly towards it, so truly, nothing is expected of you but anything and everything is appreciated. And regardless of whether you're in the place to donate or not, a simple share of this post on any platform would go a long way :)
To those who took the time out of their day to read this, thank you. It means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to John.
Sincerely,
Nick L.
