Help John Scovack get back to his home!!

My name is Rhonda and on behalf of John Scovack I am asking others to reach out and help support a fellow Leesburg High School Alumni, and deserving friend. About 33 years ago John dove into shallow water and suffered a spinal cord injury which left him a quadriplegic, from then on dependent upon others for practically all of his needs. I have known John since roughly junior high school. We grew up in the same neighborhood and I am also a quadriplegic like John.

I know all too well what it's like to lose your mom as your main caregiver and struggle to find good caregiving help. With the help of others generosity I have been able to so far remain in a community setting and not in a facility. Unfortunately, that is not the case for John at the moment. He has no other choice at this time, but to reside in a facility because he cannot get the care he needs at home to remain there. He only gets a certain amount of hours of caregiving paid for by the state and the rest of the hours are up to him to cover. He doesn't have the money to do that. He could definitely use a trustworthy live in caregiver and/or anyone who wants to donate some of their time to help with his caregiving. Monetary donations will be used towards caregiving, catching up his mortgage payments on his house, his utilities (electric, trash, water, phone, cable, food, etc.) and keeping his transportation (equipped van) maintained. Many things that we take for granted he doesn't have right now. He may lose everything including his house that has been his home for many, many years and is set up specifically for his needs if we can't help him. I can't bear to think about that happening for anyone, but especially John who is my dear friend.

John needs to be back in the home that he has known for so long so he can live out his remaining days in a familiar setting and not in a nursing home facility!
