Help John Tanner with Rehab Expenses

Hello Friends and Family,
Most of you know that our good friend and colleague John Tanner was seriously injured in a fall about three and a half months ago. As a result of that fall, John has lost all movement from the waist down and, while he has some movement in his fingers, he is unable to move his arms. John is in a hospital in Northridge California, undergoing therapy three times a day. He has been informed that he will be transferred to a board and care facility on Monday, February 15th. John needs additional care and therapy, and the cost is $400 a day! His healthcare insurance won’t cover the board and care. There will be other expenses too: renovation of his home for universal access, additional medical expenses, caregivers, and a special vehicle.
John has worked for more than 40 years on behalf of working people in every part of this country, demonstrating his commitment to social justice. He has worked tirelessly for those who needed a voice. And let’s not forget what a great friend John has been to so many of us. He possesses a wonderful, wry sense of humor, and an infectious laugh. Do we have to hear another “doctor, doctor” joke? Yes, we do! We want the John we all know and love to return! Our goal is to raise $35,000 to help John and Jenny cover these additional expenses.
