Help Johnny Care for Roro

Johnny Dao passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 after a long battle with his mental health . He leaves behind family and friends who loved him unconditionally and his dog, Roronoa (Roro) named after the famous pirate hunter from one of his favorite animes, One Piece.

Johnny rescued Roro earlier this year from dog fighters and from then on the pair have been inseparable. Johnny loved Roro with all his heart and spared no effort to care for him. They loved going on long walks, watching basketball, and napping together. Roro provided comfort and joy at a time when Johnny needed it most and was the last one with him before he passed.

Roro will be moving to Dallas to join his new forever home with Leslie Boorhem-Stephenson, a close friend of Johnny’s and the family, and a huge support during this incredibly difficult time.

In connection to Roro, we’d also like to thank Iris Cedillos, Johnny’s best (human) friend, who has been helpful beyond measure in taking Roro for walks, attending to his medical care, and keeping him company during this transition.

To honor Johnny, we kindly ask that you direct any donations here to help us continue to take care of Roro, his beloved dog and best friend.

While Johnny’s loss has been devastatingly painful, we can think of no better way to show our love than to honor his last wish.
