Help Johnny Crash bring METAHEART to the Playa

To our Burning Man Family and Supporters,

Johnny Crash has big plans in store for 2024 and we need your help to turn his vision into a reality. One of his most renowned works of art, METAHEART, spent the pandemic years sitting idle and deconstructed, while awaiting the world's return to normalcy. The time has come for this piece to be awakened from its slumber. METAHEART'S comeback tour kicks off February 15th at The Love Burn, the largest regional burn in the Southeast, but we need your support to get there!

About METAHEART:

METAHEART is a mirror-clad, 3D masterpiece that rises 23' from the ground, reflecting the people and scenes of life surrounding it. Three arching arms form a heart motif recognizable from any direction or distance. At its center hangs an interactive jungle gym in the ancient geometric shape of a Metatron's cube. This form rotates under human power with the participation of any curious and willing admirer.

METAHEART invites the viewer to reflect on and expand beyond the confines of their heart. By looking inward, we see beyond ourselves and our perceived constraints to connection. The piece symbolizes the discovery of love, for the self and others, in every axis and plane, across time, space and infinity.

Why We Need Your Support:

Refurbishing this piece is a monumental undertaking that requires significant resources. We are dedicated to upgrading, repairing, and delivering a truly extraordinary work of art to the community, but we can't do it alone. Your support is essential and will directly contribute to much-needed repairs and upgrades, including sandblasting and refinishing the steel, polishing the mirrors, constructing new platform decks and designing new base panels that will feature updated LEDs, infinity mirrors and sacred symbolism. Your support will also help us fund our transportation and logistical costs.
