Help Jon and Julie Scheopf with Medical Expenses

In 2020, Jon Schoepf, a cyclist of 44 years, was in a terrible accident. A construction truck dropped an 8' piece of rebar onto the road and took him out. The driver never stopped. If not for a good Samaritan jumping the median to save him, he would have been run over by oncoming traffic. The accident caused massive injuries, including a shattered clavicle. He endured shoulder surgery which included two plates and 12 screws to repair the shoulder. He has not been able to work for the past two years as he has been in and out of physical therapy and rehabilitation, trying to recover and rebuild his shoulder. In May 2022, Jon was next hit with COVID and endured severe symptoms, including swelling in the scar tissue of his shoulder. COVID then spread and led to stroke and seizure symptoms with multiple trips to the hospital. The next six months were filled with numerous ER visits and appointments with specialists from every discipline. After spending a week in the hospital in October with no resolution, Jon and Julie decided to go outside their medical insurance plan to seek the help Jon needed. They met with a sports medicine doctor who knew Jon's cycling history and discovered a severe infection overtaking his body. After convincing the doctors to put him on a high dose of antibiotics, they are starting to see positive changes.
Their medical bills have risen above $10,000, which doesn't include the current care he is receiving outside of his medical insurance plan. This fundraiser will provide Jon and Julie with some financial relief as they concentrate on getting Jon healed and healthy. They thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.
