At an early age Jon was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, a disease where the immune cells cause kidney damage. Just recently he spent 4 days in the hospital being treated for acute kidney failure and was diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD). He is being placed on the kidney transplant list and must undergo daily dialysis treatments in the near future.
