Help Jo'Nae's Family Through This Difficult Time

My name is Amy Nichols and it is with a heavy heart that I am asking for help in supporting my daughter Lily's best friend JoNae's family. This past Thursday, August 8th, Jo'Nae was riding her bike home from work when a vehicle failed to yield at a crosswalk and struck Jo'Nae at a high rate of speed. Jo'Nae suffered several broken bones and a serious brain injury. She is currently in the hospital in a medically induced coma. Jo'Nae's parents, Lanae and William, have been by her side non-stop since the accident, taking turns, making sure Jo'Nae is never alone. They also have Jo'Nae's two younger sisters at home to care for. Medical bills and lost wages add up quickly and I am asking the community to come together to help this wonderful family during this tragic time.

Having had the absolute pleasure of knowing Jo'Nae, I can tell you that she is one special girl. She really is one of those people that lights up the room. Her charisma is magnetic. I remember the first time I met her and how impressed I was with her maturity and grace. I am beyond grateful for what a good, caring, and loyal friend she has been to my daughter. She is such a driven and bright girl. She recently graduated high school at 17, having skipped a grade and was due to begin college this month. She is probably one of the most tenacious young ladies I've ever met and I know she will tackle her recovery with the same passion and determination that has been the hallmark of her 17 years.
