Help Jonah's Recovery through TBI Rehabilitation
Donation protected
Wow, it's more difficult to ask for help than one may think... Struggling to find the words. Here's what we shared with our family the days after Jonah's accident.
"Hey all... Sorry for the delay in posting. There's been a lot going on and we're emotionally exhausted.
Just to catch everyone up. Here's a short version. Wednesday night/Thursday morning, Jonah was in a horrible accident, flipping his truck several times. He had a skull fracture and a large (left) and small (right) brain bleed. They rushed him into emergency surgery for it. The surgery went as expected. He is in Neuro ICU. Further scans and tests revealed he has a large laceration on the non-surgical side of his head, broken facial bones, fractured ribs, a broken wrist on the right, a broken hand on the left, bruised lungs, and a bunch of deep bruises and scrapes all over. I feel like I'm forgetting something. Oh, his eyeballs are dark red—bruised severely. My dad and I saw the truck at the accident site before we got to Jonah; he's lucky to be alive. Each day there have been slight improvements, as small as one-word answers to a whole sentence. He has recognized us the whole time. He does not remember anything from the accident. Each time he wakes up, we have had to tell him why he is in so much pain. It's heartbreaking."
He is home now and beginning rehab for the Traumatic Brain Injury. Each day there are improvements and setbacks, sometimes in the same breath. If you personally know Jonah, you know he's always there for anyone in need and isn't one to ask for help. Jonah needs to focus on his recovery. So we are reaching out to our community to ask for him. As much as he wants to, he is currently unable to return to work. His usual ongoing bills, new medical debt, and future are a huge weight on him. Any donation, no matter the size, will create a meaningful difference towards Jonah's recovery, healing, and rebuilding his life.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity during this most difficult chapter in Jonah's life. Sending love and big hugs to all. ♥️
