Help Jonathan overcome a medical disaster
Covid19 has devastated some people's lives and impacted all of us. The events industry has been grossly impacted by Covid19 preventive measures, and many in this industry like Jonathan have lost their job. Bad things happen to good people, and for Jonathan Slater a medical calamity struck.
Mr. Slater was a Business Development/Marketing Director in the events industry, before Covid19 cost him his job. While navigating this challenge, he was stricken with a staph infection resulting in osteomyelitis . Amputation was the treatment necessary to save his life and now the road to recovery begins. The community has rallied and with the effort of this crowd funding platform, we aim to raise funds necessary to cover medical expenses and housing. Our goal is to support Jonathan through his recovery and provide the footing he may use to get back to the new normal.
While attending the University of Miami, his father was diagnosed with cancer. He moved back to Northern Virginia to be close to family. After his father passed, he finished his education graduating from George Mason University. Jonathan’s mother passed away in 2012 due to cancer as well, so he has no other family.
Jonathan is no stranger to challenges, he was born prematurely resulting in a brain hemorrhage. He has overcome atrophy of his right arm and leg due to mild cerebral palsy. Despite these challenges he has spent the last 20yrs in the events business supporting himself. You may know him as "Slate" or "Johnny Boy". Thank you for your help.
