Raising funds for the 2nd Edition of UpLIFT and The Gathering.
www.upliftmovement.org

Across the USA Black Male Educators make up about 2% of all educators despite research indicating the impact educators of color have on all students. Black Male Educators are faced with so many challenges in the field of education. From isolation, racial bias, racial inequities, self hate, tokenism and the simple fact that the system was never designed for people of color let alone black men.

UpLIFT is dedicated to celebrating black male educators across the USA - For Us, By Us. Combining vivid visuals and reflections in combatting oppressive experiences through this innovative affinity movement.

Funds will be used toward marketing, promoting & launching the 2nd Edition of UpLIFT.  Join the movement to celebrate and UpLIFT black male educators across the country!

Your donation will allow us to to continue our annual publication and opportunity to celebrate an additional 40 black male educators in the USA.  Your support will move our movement one step closer to sustainability and help us create tangible and virtual space to affirm black male educators.

Did you know having at least one black teacher in the third through fifth grades reduced a black student's probability of dropping out of school by 29%?
Even more...For black boys the results are even greater - their chance of dropping out fell to 39%. ---Source: Johns Hopkins University Large Scale Study

Despite the studies that illustrate the significance and Impact black male educators can have on student achievement, the national average is only 2%.
Currently they are 114,000 schools in our nation and only 80,000 black Male Educators which means there is less than 1 black male educator per school nation wide. ---Source: MDR A Division of Dun & Bradstreet

In this time of racist killings of black men and boys in particular, we must raise our collective voice and join, participate, and donate our time, talent and treasure to movements addressing oppression and white supremacy. Being an anti-racist involves your active commitment to dismantling structures that perpetuate racism. Begin or continue your anti-racist lived values and make a meaningful donation today.
