Help Jordan After Car Crash

My dear friend, Jordan Boyum, is a social worker in SE Minnesota dedicated to helping those who are unhoused and/or experiencing housing insecurity. She has constantly is working hard to help people in our community get back on their feet.

One of her major contributions to Rochester area is organizing the annual Project Community Connect that designed to provide area services and resources for people who are homeless or struggling to make ends meet. Free services include: lunches, haircuts, vaccines, HIV testing, shoes, employment, interpreters and more.

Unfortunately, Jordan and her family have been experiencing a series of unfortunate events and she needs our help. Please read what Jordan has written about her situation and consider helping out this dear community member and friend.

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Recently, I was involved in a car accident that left my vehicle potentially totaled.

Unfortunately, my insurance will not cover the costs of repairing the damage or paying off the remaining loan balance. I have been door dashing on the side to have a little extra cash during a rough patch my family is going through & was not aware that if I was to have an accident while actively dashing that my full coverage insurance would not cover it. Unfortunately, door dash only covers liability so at this point the only options are me paying off my loan & scrapping the car ($10,000 roughly) or paying out of pocket to fix it (if it is fixable) which at this moment I am not sure what the cost of the damage is.

This car is not just a mode of transportation for me; it is essential for my daily life. It’s how I get to work all across SE Minnesota, run errands, and take care of my families needs.

I’ve created this GoFundMe campaign to humbly ask for your support during this challenging time. I need to raise around $15,000 either to repair the vehicle, if possible, or to pay off the remaining loan and making a down payment on another one.
