In the early hours of Friday, July 21st, the girls' mums received the gut-wrenching news that Jordan had been taken away in an ambulance. Thousands of miles away, the worry and helplessness that comes with being a mother on the other side of the world pierced their hearts.

The incident occurred during an innocent moment of joy, as Jordan and her fellow travellers joyously jumped into the ocean in Dubrovnik, Croatia. In a heartbeat, something went terribly wrong, and Jordan knew she was in danger. Rescuers pulled her from the water, but the severity of her injuries became apparent when they rushed her to the hospital. The diagnosis was devastating - a fractured L1 in her spine with bone fragments dangerously compressing her spinal cord.

The urgency of her condition led to an emergency transfer from Dubrovnik to Split, where Jordan had to undergo immediate surgery. In that moment of crisis, she had to be separated from her dear friend, Tiana, leaving them both in a foreign country with a whirlwind of emotions, fear, and uncertainty.

While Tiana's mum selflessly made the decision to fly at her own expense to be by Jordan's side, Jordan's mum faced her own heartbreaking challenge. She was unable to travel immediately due to passport issues and financial constraints. The anguish of not being there for her daughter during this difficult time was an unimaginable burden to bear.

At 20 years old, Jordan's zest for life and her excitement to explore the world should never have led her down this treacherous path. But life's cruel twists can strike anyone, regardless of age or circumstance.
