Help Jordan’s Corner relocate: They were forced to move
Donation protected
I’m starting this gofundme on behalf of Jordan’s Corner. Jordan’s Corner is a huge project with a greater mission. I have watched my best friend, Janell Panicko and her family give up a lot to keep this business in the community. She set the bar for this industry in Arizona and continually advocates for those who are different. She encourages a play space for all kids, where parents can open up about their kids and create meaningful, long-lasting friendships.
Jordan’s Corner had their home and was positioned to grow their mission of serving children and their families in the community for years to come.
Unfortunately, Jordan’s Corner’s path took an unexpected turn. Their location, which they had called home for 3+ years, would no longer be offered to them. This left Janell with little hope of securing a future for Jordan’s Corner. Ultimately, Jordan’s Corner was forced to move.
Within 2 months Janell found a broker to help her find a new space. Given her unique situation of only being in operation for 2.5 years, she was not hopeful. But luckily, she found her dream location. The new landlord looked over the business, vision and community Janell built and believed in her and her mission.
This is where the fun begins.
Janell quickly began reaching out to her support network letting them know she would be moving and that she wanted to offer more to the community. She quickly found partners to sponsor the FIRST ADA accessible playhouses in Arizona. Later that week she met with a sponsor to build an art zone as well as with Mill and RecycledPHX to build a compost dig exhibit for kids, which included a live worm farm.
Janell inspires me. She went from sitting on the floor crying to fighting for what she believed in.
Janell does what others are fearful to do. She brings hope and support to so many in the community.
She recently met with the Blind foundation to learn about how blind children play and is now able to employ graduates from this program. Janell has also employed someone from the Neuro rehabilitation program. She sponsors schools with annual memberships for their raffles, low income families, children with disabilities, and gives up so much of her time to host the most elaborate events for kids. She even recently took a full-time job as a nurse to ensure stability for her own family and success for Jordan’s Corner.
Therefore, I’m asking you to donate. These moving expenses have been hard on her family. She is so grateful for her sponsors but every day costs continue to rise. Construction increased from $10,000 to over $25,000 (just for drywall and a few doors).
Jordan’s Corner is unique, it’s one of a kind. No one does events like them and no one advocates like them. They are a space for ALL children and have done so much to help our community.
Let’s help them so we can see this amazing space come to life. Our community needs a space like Jordan’s Corner. I am requesting that you please share, pray, or encourage her. Jordan’s Corner is her passion project and it was created because of the need for the children of our community to have a special space to play.
