HELP JORGE DIAZ MEDICAL BILLS!

Hola a todos! No se la verdad como empezar a escribir esto. El pasado 4 de Diciembre del 2022, mi amado padre Jorge Diaz fue ingresado de emergencia al Hospital de la Universidad de Utah, donde fue diagnosticado con una "Endocarditis", que es una infeccion causada por una bacteria en la valvula aortica (aortic valve) del corazon, que es la que se encarga de surtir la sangre a todo el cuerpo, dando como resultado una septicemia de niveles muy elevados, la cual causo que la infeccion se propagara a otros organos - riñones, higado, medula espinal y cerebro -, lo cual le ha causado cuatro (4) ACVs (Strokes), dejandolo con sintomas de delirio mental e inabilitacion para caminar y hacer sus necesidades basicas, ademas de haber sufrido una arritmia que casi termina con su vida.

Mi Papa, no tiene ningun tipo de seguro medico en USA, ya que no tiene status migratorio, lo cual ha hecho mucho mas complicada esta situacion.

De los cuatro (4) hijos y su esposa, solo tres (3) de nosotros y mi mama, pudimos estar con el desde el 6 de Diciembre al 12 Diciembre, y luego solo me pude quedar yo (Mario) por 3 semanas mas, donde pude cuidarlo y motivarlo todos los dias a su mejoria, ayudandolo a pararse de la cama para hacer sus ejercicios de terapia fisica, llevarlo al baño, escuchando la musica que a el le gusta, etc. en ese tiempo mostro una mejoria increible, pero desde mi ida, su estado mental ha desmejorado notablemente; por razones economicas y de trabajo no nos ha sido posible volverlo a visitarlo. Lo cual es una gran angustia y precuapacion para todos nosotros, ya que el practicamente se encuentra solo en la ciudad, aunque cabe destacar que el cuidado de todo el personal medicos del Hospital de la Universidad de Utah, incluyendo: Doctores, Enfermeros, Asistentes de Enfermería ha sido excepcional y por lo cual estaremos eternamentes agradecidos como familia.

Esta ayuda ademas de ayudarnos a pagar algunos gastos de la hospitalizacion y terapia fisica, nos ayudara a transportar a nuestro Papa desde la ciudad de Salt Lake City, UT a la ciudad de Atlanta, GA, que es donde reside el resto de la familia -sus 3 hijos y esposa (mi Mama). Debido a la condicion actual de mi Papa la unica opcion de transporte es via terrestre y para eso necesitamos rentar un RV o Compact Motormome para poder tener el cuidado necesario que el requiere y en caso de cualquier eventualidad en el viaje, tener la posibilidad de parar en cualquier hospital o sala de emergencias.

Estamos seguro que en un entorno de familia y la interaccion con nosotros, su estado mental mejorara y asi su condicion general.

Varios de ustedes han preguntado si pueden hacer algo para ayudar a Jorge (mi papá). En este momento, esta recaudación de fondos es esa cosa. Sé que el dinero es escaso en estos momentos, pero NINGUNA CANTIDAD ES DEMASIADO PEQUEÑA. Si pueden correr la voz, eso tiene el mismo valor. Y todos los buenos pensamientos, deseos y oraciones han significado y siguen significando mucho.

Hello everyone! I really don't know how to start writing this. On December 4, 2022, my beloved father Jorge Diaz was admitted to the University of Utah Hospital in an emergency, where he was diagnosed with "Endocarditis", which is an infection caused by a bacterium in the aortic valve of the heart, which is responsible for supplying blood to the entire body. In addition to having suffered an arrhythmia that almost ended his life, the endocarditis resulted in very high level of septicemia, which caused the infection to spread to other organs - kidneys, liver, spinal cord and brain - which then caused him to have four (4) ACVs (Strokes), leaving him with symptoms of mental delirium and inability to walk and take care of his basic needs,.

Of the four (4) children and his wife, only three (3) of us and my mother were able to stay with him from December 6 to December 12, and then only I (Mario) could stay for 3 more weeks, where I was able to take care of him and motivate him every day to enhance his improvement, helping him get out of bed to do his physical therapy exercises, taking him to the bathroom, listening to music that he likes, etc. In that time, he showed incredible improvement, but since my departure, his mental state has deteriorated remarkably. For economic and work reasons it has not been possible for us to visit it again. Which is a great anguish and concern for all of us since he is practically alone in the city. Although it should be noted that the care of all the medical personnel of the Hospital of the University of Utah, including Doctors, Nurses, Assistants of Nursing has been exceptional and for which we will be forever grateful as a family.

My dad does not have any type of health insurance in the USA, since he does not have immigration status, which has made this situation much more complicated.

This aid, in addition to helping us pay some hospitalization and physical therapy expenses, will help us transport our father from the city of Salt Lake City, UT to the city of Atlanta, GA, which is where the rest of the family resides - his 3 children and wife (my mom). Due to the current condition of my dad, the only transportation option is by land and for that we need to rent an RV or Compact Motorhome to be able to take the necessary care that he requires and in case of any eventuality on the trip, have the possibility stop at any hospital or emergency room.

We are sure that in a family environment and interaction with us, his mental state will improve and thus his general condition.

Several of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help Jorge (my dad). Right now, this fundraiser is that thing. I know money is tight right now, but NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL. If you can also get the word out, that's just as valuable. And all the good thoughts, wishes and prayers have meant and still mean a lot.
