HELP Jorge in his battle with colon cancer

My name is Carlo Ventura and I’d like to share a little bit about a situation we have in our community and an opportunity to help a man in need.

I met Jorge at Ocotillo golf resort about 18-20 years ago. He worked as a dishwasher, I asked Jorge join us in the dining room as a server assistant, after so many attempt he said “Si”. He was afraid guest’s would not like him because of his limited English. He left Ocotillo resort and worked at dVine and wine Bistro.

I joined St Amand and Jorge was working in the dish area once again. Loved by everyone Guest’s and coworkers alike.

At the beginning of this year he was told that he had colon cancer.

He finished chemo few months back, then he did radio.

I would ask him daily how he was feeling. His answer was “muy bien” Although feet and hands were always in pain as his swollen knees.

Jorges has done all that he is asked to do with pleasure, only lately he would lament that he was tired.

He was told that an operation to remove his colon was necessary.

As I drove Jorge to the Valleywise hospital in Phoenix at 530am this past Monday on the way out of the car I wished the best for him, he answered by saying “Estoy asustado” I am scared. That was the only time that he said that.

I myself miss him a lot, such a Gentleman.

We all pray that he recovers fast, We all miss him very much.

As I write this with tears in my eyes I ask that you spare whatever you can to help my dear friend.
