Help Jorge Lopez Fight Cancer

My father Jorge Lopez was having problems with his stomach. It started off with countless visits to the doctor and various exams. He then got diagnosed with lymphoma and has a tumor in his stomach. The doctors proceeded with Chemo therapies, he took the first ones very well. It wasn’t until the fourth chemotherapy where he began having complications. He was having problems swallowing his food, abdominal pain , and restless nights. We then proceeded to take him to the ER he was there for about two weeks. They said he had food stuck in his esophagus they treated it but gave him a TPN bag and he was sent home and had at home care. The doctors at St Joseph, told his about the CAR T CELL THERAPY FOR CANCER located at The City of Hope in Duarte.
They then began doing the exams to proceed with this new therapy. On his last visit , he got pain in his chest. The doctor then sent him into the Urgent Care, he then got admitted and his situation got worse. He got moved into the ICU and they told us they would start Radiation and Dialysis because his kidneys weren’t functioning properly. After 2 sessions of both , he was removed out of the ICU.
They continued with the treatments and then after exams/scans they put him on a higher Oxygen dose and told us that he has liquid in his lungs because of the tumor getting bigger. He kept getting radiation, dialysis, and they would also drain his lungs of fluid. The doctor told us that after the updated PET scan showed that his esophagus is clear but now his stomach has ruptured and the fluid drained into his organs. He is now prone to infections. The Doctor said that the CAR T Cell treatment is now complicated to get done. The surgeons came and said that this is a very complicated procedure and they will have to talk to the head surgeon.
He is now at advanced stage 3 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma this has impacted my family so drastically. He is great father of four lovely children. He is a wonderful person inside and out who does so much for so many and now it is our turn to help.
We are all very devastated by this sudden news and are asking for support to assist with impending medical and living expenses for him and his family. Please take a moment to consider donating to our amazing family, no contribution is too small to make an impact.
Thank You
Love,
