Help Joriel Recover From Gender Affirming Surgery
Donation protected
hello, my name is Joriel! I'm a chronically disabled jewish trans man raising money for my recovery period after my gender affirmation surgery.
On Oct. 20th, 2021, I'm set to have a double mastectomy/chest masculinization surgery and a total hysterectomy. Both of these are major surgeries, so I will be unable to work for at least a couple of months.
This GFM will completely cover the cost of transport to and from the hospital (both for my surgery and for my follow-ups/check-ups), my portion of rent, car insurance, groceries, etc. During my recovery period.
I lost my previous job due to the pandemic-- I have to work cautiously, as my family is immunocompromised and I don't want any complications with my surgery, so my options are limited. Also, due to complications with my insurance I can only work so much without my approval being cut off and having to pay out of pocket.
I will be working right up to my surgery date to secure as much savings as possible, but between my partner returning to being a full-time student and pursuing his degree in the fall and needing to continue paying my bills in the meantime, I'm anxious about not having enough savings during my recovery. I will not be able to work *at all* and I don't want to risk not being able to cover my expenses responsibilities.
Thank you for reading this far! Any and all donations are more than welcomed and beyond appreciated. It means so much to me that you'd even consider helping me out. Even if you can't afford to donate, simply sharing on social media would be more than enough to help me. Thank you!!
