Help Jose find his MIA brother in Vietnam

Jose's brother, Manuel R. Puentes, honorably served our country during the Vietnam War and was reported missing in action (MIA) on March 25, 1971.

Jose has always wanted the chance to be near the last location Manuel was seen alive in South Vietnam. Staff Sergeant Puentes was a rifleman with Troop B, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 23 Infantry Division. On March 25, 1971, he was on a 12-man patrol in northwest Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam a few miles south of the Demilitarized Zone, when his patrol was ambushed. Manuel was shot in the foot and was last seen moving under his own power hiding behind a rock. Manuel was never seen again and is still considered missing in action (MIA).

Our goal is to be able to raise enough funds to pay for Jose and a guest round trip airfare to Vietnam and to go to the last area Manuel was seen alive. To accomplish this, we will need to have a professional battlefield tour. The opportunity to travel to and tour Vietnam is costly and is not easily fundable. Airfare alone is over $1,800 per person, not including the cost of a hotel, transportation, food and tour.
