I am José Méndez, the proud General Artistic Director of Ballet Folklorico Corazón de México, a non-profit organization dedicated to igniting the passion for Mexican folkloric dance among the youth of our Latino community.

Our journey began in 2019 with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide high-quality dance classes that celebrate the rich tapestry of Latino culture. In a world where arts often don’t get the attention they deserve, we stood firm in our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to embrace their heritage and discover the beauty of their traditions.

Our dancers, young and full of promise, embraced the challenge with open arms. They understood that they were not just learning to dance, but rather, they were becoming ambassadors of their culture, carrying forth the legacy of generations past.

Economic hardships cast a shadow over our aspirations, with many parents struggling to make ends meet. Yet, in the face of adversity, we refuse to yield.
