Help Jose Luis fighting brain cancer

Our friend Jose Luis Flor Toro, an Econ PhD Student at Northwestern University needs our help.

On December 9th, Jose Luis found out that he has a malignant brain tumor known as a medulloblastoma. This type of tumor is extremely rare – only .5 cases per million people.  A specialist at Yale University has agreed to treat the case, and Yale Hospital will cover some of the costs.

However, Jose Luis collapsed in New York City on December 11th while on his way to Yale. He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he underwent a brain operation and several CT scans. This hospital stay alone will be tens of thousands of dollars. We are trying to raise money to help Jose Luis and his family cover the cost of these treatments.

Everyone who knows Jose Luis knows he has a golden heart, he is a wonderful friend and colleague, a talented economist and a lovely son.  He needs us today.
