Please help family with our dads funeral expenses.

Jose Mireles, 56, is a husband, father of three, grandfather of five, a friend to many, but most importantly, a man of God.

On March 4th of this year, our entire world was turned upside down. We took our Dad to the ER whom was having trouble swallowing food, sleeping, or doing simple necessities.

He was diagnosed with (Stage 3) Esophageal & Gastric Cancer. We need your help with medical expenses and family support in the fight for his life.

Initially, we were told it was gastric cancer, but a few days later they told us it was also in his esophagus and that they had discovered a large mass (tumor) in between his stomach & the esophagus. He also had anemia so he had to get a blood transfusion.

A few days later he was discharged... but started to feel ill again after 2-weeks of leaving the first hospital. So we rushed him to the ER again. This time we took him to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX with shortness of breath, mild-fever and a swollen left arm due to a blood clot.

They told us he had to get more blood transfusions because his blood-count level was very low (the reason why he was feeling shortness of breath). Therefore, he was admitted to the hospital again on March 16th.

We have been very affected by this and our hearts have been completely shattered to know that our caregiver, our best friend, our biggest supporter, our father has cancer now.

Thankfully, he tested negative for COVID and we are able to visit him and still see him. It’s so hard having a sick family member during these times, as we are only allowed to visit him during special hours and up to one person a day only. Which has made everything more difficult and stressful since we can’t spend time with him as a family.

He has always been a great, strong, caring dad. It’s so heartbreaking to see him go through soo much in such a short period of time. He used to weigh 170lbs and he has lost over 40 lbs in the past month and a half, making him really weak.

Our father is also a hardworking man who worked hard most of his life. He was still strong and working two months ago but everything changed from one day to the other. He went from feeling energetic to feeling weak and restless. From working everyday to not working at all.

Unfortunately, the tumor in his esophagus is blocking part of his esophagus, preventing him from eating like he used too. Part of the reason why he’s lost weight so rapidly. He eats very slowly and mainly soft food/liquids because it hurts to swallow but he’s been eating more lately. Which gives us hope that things will get better.

It’s been very saddening but we are still hopeful that God will heal him because with Him everything is possible.

I am raising this money as financial support/medical expenses for my parents in these difficult times. Most importantly, asking you for your prayers and may God touch the hearts that need to be touched to make this possible.

This means so much to us, our family. I appreciate and thank everyone in advance for the support.

Please help us out by sharing this on your timeline and may Gods will be done. God bless and thank you all!
