Help Jose Oropeza with extreme medical bills
Hello, we are reaching out to the local community for help. Jose Oropeza, who many of you know as the trusted and faithful employee of the Seascape 2 HOA, has been devastated by a sudden medical emergency involving his wife Sandra. I have known Jose for many years, as a resident of the complex....He's done work for us, and has truly taken care of our association!!. After learning of the medical emergency with his wife Sandra, I offered to help Jose start a Go Fund Me page, and to raise funds for her medical bills, and other expenses. We are urging all residents, and friends of them to help with this fundraiser!
Here is Jose and Sandra's Story: On April 24th, of this year, Sandra was driving in San Pedro, and had a sudden, terrible headache. She called Jose and he told her to quickly park the car, and to call 911. At San Pedro Hospital, they rushed her into emergency surgery with a brain aneurism. It was then determined that she also had a stroke.
Sandra was then put into a medically induced coma for over a month, and had brain surgery to reduce the swelling. The doctors told Jose the prognosis was not good.
Over time, Sandra regained consciousness, and was moved first to Little Company Hospital in Torrance, and then to a rehab facility in San Pedro. She can now recognize people, write some, and speak slowly. However, the stroke has left much of her left side immobilized.
The daily cost for this round the clock rehad for Sandra exceeds $1500 per day!!
Their insurance will only cover 100 days, and they have now used 60 days. The doctors cannot say how long she will have to stay in this expensive rehab facility. In addition to these costs, there are co-pays, and other out of pocket expenses that Jose has to cover.
What's more, Sandra is now not working, and so the family does not have that income to help out.
Jose Oropeza is 49 years old, and has worked for the Seascape 2 HOA for 33 years! Jose and his family live on the property with us. Jose and Sandra have two young daughters who are 12 and 21 years old, and are extremely worried about their mom.
We are trying to raise $28,000 for Jose and his family to help with this devastating medical emergency, that they do not have the resources by themselves to cover. Please help us raise these needed funds. They are true friends to our community and need our help now!!....As the organizer on this go fund me page, the funds will initially be sent to me, and then I will send Jose a weekly check until all the funds are exhausted. There are no local expenses for this project. 100% of the funds we receive from Go Fund Me will be sent to Jose and his family!
