Help Josh recover from Arc Flash Accident
Donation protected
On December 17th Josh was called out to troubleshoot a piece of electrical equipment. In the course of determining what was wrong and attempting to correct the problem an Arc Flash accident occurred. Arc Flash is an extremely hot flash of powerful electrical energy reaching up to 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Thankfully Josh was not electrocuted but he was seriously burned. He sustained 2nd degree burns on both of his hands and his right thigh. His face was burned as well though not severely. Josh spent six days in the Oregon Burn Center receiving excellent 24 hour care and he had to be sedated for one episode of debridement.
The photos below were taken 10 days after the accident and show a great deal of improvement.
All things considered Josh was extremely lucky, however as a self employed contractor with no employees this event has and will continue to affect all aspects of our lives. As a self employed person he doesn't have workers compensation insurance, and while he does have medical coverage it is a high deductible plan that doesn't cover much. He is currently unable to work and with the amount of care he requires I am unable to work any significant hours. We are hoping he can return in a supervisory capacity very soon but unfortunately the bills just keep piling up. We are humbly asking for your help dealing with our daily expenses, household bills and the medical bills that are looming in our future.
Any money raised beyond our personal needs we plan to donate to the Oregon Burn Center so they can continue to provide excellent care to burn victims.
