Help Josh Myers and family
Donation protected
On March 11, 2021 Josh Myers was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic non-smokers lung cancer that spread to his spine, legs, lymph nodes and skull. This diagnosis came after months of physical therapy to treat Josh’s tremendous back pain. The news was unexpected and devastating.
Josh had to undergo immediate and successful emergency surgery, inserting a rod into his femur, to keep the bone from breaking. He’s completed his first round of radiation, begun his second round of radiation and has started chemotherapy. Josh will have to take Tagrisso daily…forever. This daily medication carries an incredible price tag. The good news from his doctor is that his condition today is treatable. Despite so many up and down days, with this encouraging news, he and his wife Kim (and their two boys) are up for the fight ahead. The family wants to thank all of their friends and family for all of the love and assistance so far.
Unfortunately Josh’s employer did not offer short or long-term disability and stopped paying him almost immediately after he went out. Optimistically, Josh shared his intent to get back to work as soon as he was physically possible and discussed scenarios in which this could be feasible.
The hope was there would be no need to set up any fundraising, but despite Josh’s best intentions, his now former employer decided to terminate him on May 4th. Needless to say, the family is now facing much uncertainty going forward. We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help the family as they focus on getting Josh back on his feet so he eventually can seek new employment.
Any form of support is much appreciated!
