Help Josh Play Rugby In Australia

Hello, my name is Dave, Chairman for Cobras Rugby Chiang Mai and I am raising money to help Josh travel to and play rugby in Australia this April.

Josh is one of our local Thai rugby players. He was born in Hat Yai, Thailand and moved to Chiang Mai when he was 8 years old. Josh attended Prince Royal’s College (PRC) where he began playing his rugby. He graduated from PRC and studied at Chiang Mai and Maejo University. His family resides in Chiang Mai and his Mom and Dad run a local coffee shop and bakery . He has been playing rugby for 7 years and normally plays in the forwards, prop, hooker, lock, flanker, 8 but is equally adept at center.

He is very excited to travel to Australia and play a season with Kempsey Cannonballs, in New South Wales. His dream is to one day play Super Rugby.

Josh is a leader both on and off the pitch. He is a menace with the ball in hand on attack, always looking to run in space or run through defenders, and is tenacious in defense. Josh makes his presence known all over the pitch and will make a tremendous addition to any team.

Perhaps his best asset beside his drive and determination is the fact that he is so humble and such a natural leader. He is a great athlete and genuinely good person. He will always assist in coordination with all our Thai players and when Josh is not playing he is normally helping and working with his parents at their coffee shop and bakery.

For the reasons above, Josh was selected as our next Cobras Rugby Club pathway player. He has played rugby with multiple clubs in Chiang Mai, including PRC, Chiang Mai University, Maejo University, Chiang Mai All Stars and Cobras Rugby. Josh was one of our original Thai players and has been with Cobras for 4 years. This year has been a great year for Josh as he was selected for the Thailand National Team for 15s, played with the Royal Thai Army, and represented Chiang Mai province for the provincial Rugby 7s and 15s. Also Josh was selected for a player exchange with Hong Kong City Rugby. Josh loves playing rugby. Playing rugby has opened up new friendships and opportunities for Josh and he is looking forward to what lies ahead in his rugby career.

Cobras Rugby is actively involved with clubs globally to find appropriate venues to showcase our local Thai rugby talent. Our club works with PRC and other local rugby clubs to identify players that could be noticed and have an impact in higher level rugby. Josh was identified for our Australia opportunity and will be able to compete and contribute fully to the Kempsey Cannonballs.

Cobras Rugby is always searching for avenues to display our local Thai players and provide options to pursue the sport we love and perhaps, have the world take notice.
