Help Joshua Schoenly Overcome Cardiac Crisis

A Fight for Life and a Call for help:
On the morning of March 5th, 2025, our lives were changed forever. Joshua Schoenly, a loving boyfriend and father. He went to HCA Hospital in Orlando after experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing. What began as a routine visit to the ER turned into a terrifying ordeal when Josh suddenly went into cardiac arrest while waiting for the doctor.
HCA Hospital wasn't equipped to handle a cardiac emergency, Josh was quickly transferred to AdventHealth Hospital in Orlando. When our daughter and I arrived at the ICU, we were devastated to find Josh on life support, connected to an ECMO machine just to keep him alive. The uncertainty was overwhelming, but a few days later, we witnessed a miracle – Josh began to wake up. The fear in his eyes was evident as he had no memory of what had happened, and he was confused about where he was.
Gradually, Josh regained some ability to speak, and on March 13th, he underwent open-heart surgery to remove a tumor that had been growing inside his heart. The surgery was complex, and the surgeon had to carefully scrape around the heart’s wall to ensure all of the tumor was removed. After the surgery, Josh was connected to six tubes to drain the fluid accumulating around his lungs.
Though the road to recovery has been challenging, Josh has made incredible progress. Tubes have been removed one by one, and every day brings small victories. Just yesterday, a tube was removed from his neck, and today, another was taken out. We also learned that his right lung collapsed during the procedure to remove his breathing tube. He’s now working hard to strengthen his lungs with a special device, and we remain hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
Through this unimaginable experience, Josh has gained a new perspective on life. He said that what happened to him has opened his eyes to the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. He is determined to make profound changes in his life moving forward, to not take anything for granted.
However, the financial burden of this journey is already weighing heavily on us. Josh does not have health insurance. With our regular living expenses. We are doing our best to stay afloat, but we are facing a financial crisis.
If you are able to help us during this incredibly difficult time, we would be deeply grateful. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering Josh's medical expenses and supporting our family as we navigate the long road ahead. Your generosity and kindness mean more to us than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and prayers.
