Help Joshua Yehl Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Joshua Yehl. You may know me from my work online where I shared my passion about superhero movies, Star Wars, and Pokémon cards for the past decade. Recently, I went through the worst week of my life. I was laid off in a company re-org and I was diagnosed with cancer. When it rains, it pours.
I have a rare, aggressive type of cancer that first showed itself as a big lump in my neck. It's hard to remain hopeful as I face unemployment and a life-threatening health crisis at the same time, but I have a shot at beating it if I can survive five months of chemo. It's going to be a long and expensive road ahead, so if you've ever enjoyed my work and want to show your appreciation, I need your support now more than ever.
Even though I loved my time at my job, I worked it while earning a wage under the poverty line and living in the third most expensive city in the world, so I have no money to spend on emergency medical care or months of rent while I hunt for a new job. In another stroke of bad luck, my car suddenly died earlier this year and I was forced to spend the little savings I had on a used replacement car, not a month before my cancer diagnosis.
Chemo treatment causes intense fatigue, hair loss, body pain, kidney and heart problems, insomnia, increased risk of infection, and digestive issues, among many other brutal side effects. I'll be dealing with all of that while trying to keep in good spirits as I search for a new job. This literally could not have happened at a worse time. Even before my first chemo session, I had to deal with numerous tests and prescriptions, and it's only going to get worse from here.
Simply put, I'm broke, unemployed, and desperate. All donated funds will go towards my medical coverage and necessary living costs such as rent, utilities, and groceries during my time of unemployment.
They say the power of positive thinking helps a lot when you're fighting cancer, and I want to believe I can beat this, but I know I'm going to need your help to do it. Please give whatever you can. Even a little bit can make a world of difference.
Thank you
