Help Josie and Her newborn 10 Puppies Thrive

Hi, I’m Myrna Hayes and I have never actually met Sue Strek, except through Facebook and her wonderful fellow animal rescue pal Doris. Sue has worked and volunteered in animal rescue. She thought she was retired. Then, this happened.

Sue found Josie alongside the highway near her home. She posted and called Animal Control for help with finding her family. Well, Josie wasn’t wanted anymore, so she was abandoned by her fam. That sucks! AND, a good clue about why she ended up on the side of a busy highway came a few days later. Josie gave birth in Sue’s home and with her help through the night, to 11 puppies! When I last checked her post, she showed a photo of 5. But, it was eleven. Sadly, the last pup to be born to pretty, sweet Josie, came feet first and was in the birth canal too long to survive but 3 hours with Sue’s help. She named him Willow and she and Doris buried him in Sue’s sanctuary garden the next day.

While friends immediately set up an Amazon Wishlist, Sue and Josie are going to need cash! I haven’t even set the GoFundMe goal high enough for Josie’s and her puppies' care. But, I’ve started with $500 per pup and mom. Sue says Josie is scheduled for a discounted spay in January through Napa Humane Society. That alone will be $400, discounted from the normal fee of $700. Caring for pets is really costly now. There will be vaccinations and food and oh my goodness, EVERYTHING it will take to help these puppies and their mommy grow and flourish and find their forever homes.
