Save Lives: Help Evacuate Our Gaza Journalists’ Families

Why We Are Doing This:

Since the conflict in Palestine escalated, Palestinian journalists and their families have been targeted. To continue their crucial work, they need to ensure their families are safe outside of Gaza.

Many journalists have left Gaza, but others, driven by a commitment to report on the situation, choose to stay despite the dangers. They include our colleagues in Gaza: Samy Zyara, Mohammed Abu-Nahel, Mohammed ElSaife, and Hassan Esdodi.

Samy Zayra and Mohammed Abu Nahel evacuated their wives and children by their own means, but their other family members are still in Gaza.

To support their ongoing efforts, we aim to secure the safety of their families by facilitating their evacuation from Gaza and supporting their daily expenses outside of Gaza.

At red Media, we've supported our colleagues and friends in Gaza both financially and through other means. Yet, the current situation demands more. We're reaching out to our community for donations to help these families navigate the significant financial challenges they face in Gaza and outside.

Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of those on the front lines and their families. Please, help us ensure their safety and well-being during these tumultuous times.

What We Need:

Our GoFundMe aims to cover the following expenses for the journalists' families during their evacuation and the subsequent 12 months:

• Evacuation fees and administrative expenses

for 16 people, costing between $5,000 - $7,000 per person.

This totals an estimated $80,000 - $112,000.

• Transportation costs for 16 people: $10,000.

• Healthcare and medicine for all for 12 months: $64,000.

• Accommodation for all families for 12 months: $50,000.

• Food and essentials for all for 12 months: $25,000.

• Financial support for our colleagues in Gaza to cover their costs to survive.

Transparency:

We commit to full transparency throughout this process. Updates, including videos from our colleagues in Gaza will be shared with our donors. Upon request, we will provide a detailed breakdown and receipts of all expenditures. It's important to note that all donations will be exclusively used for the benefit of our colleagues and their families, not for red. Media’s operational costs.
