This page was created because I have been facing extreme hardships with my car over this past year, and while I have been working through them, I have come to a point of great urgency for it to be fixed as I continue my jobs and ways of living.
Both of my jobs require me to drive a lot. Over the past year, I have been serving as an ABA therapist for kids on the Autism spectrum. This job requires me to travel from 50 minutes to well over an hour to get to my clients and provide them services they need. On my off time, I drive Uber part time about 15-20 hours a week. However, on July 30th I was T-boned very badly by a truck that had been speeding. There were no cameras to prove my story, and so even though I did not get a ticket, the man’s insurance was not forced to pay for my repairs. The accident not only threw my suspension off a bit, but has also created problems with my brake.
I have decided to fundraise because I need real help getting this situation together so I may continue to work to support myself and the kids I serve daily. I have lacked familial support and consistency and juggle a ton of expenses due to being financially independent since I was 15 years old following my mother passing. While I have been blessed to come out to Atlanta and work (all the way from Brooklyn NY), expenses here are extremely tight in a city that is growing and changing rapidly. I strive daily to be the best therapist I can be for my students and give them the support systems they need to be successful individual in life, but can only continue doing so with your help.
The money that is accrued from this gofundme will all be used toward repairing my car. I have an 1000 dollars deductible on my repairs from the accident, and will be using the other 1000 to hopefully fix most of the new damages that may have occurred since I have been forced to drive the car daily despite what happened.
