Help Joy Elmore During Morris Fire Evacuation!
Hi friends, family, neighbors and good Samaritans!
As many of you know, just before Noon yesterday (6/29/21) the old paper mill in Morris, IL caught on fire, burning 80-100 tons of Lithium Ion batteries and all residents in the area (over 3,500 people) were evacuated immediately with no warning or preparation time, and no way of putting the fire out.
Unfortunately, my mom- Joy Jeras Elmore- lives in the neighborhood very close to where the fire broke out and was one of those evacuated.
Since being forced to leave, my mom has had to stay in hotel rooms and figure out her own means of feeding herself and her 3 dogs, with little to no money to begin with.
As of now, we are left with no money, no food, and a hotel room while still not being able to go home for an unknown amount of time in chance that the Lithium smoke will cause long-term health risks, and homeowners insurance wont pay a cent toward the costs of the whole situation until over $1,000 has been spent which we pray will not have to reach that amount.
