Help Hara with JT's medical bills

Update:

JT passed away on July 24th with Hara by his side. He was able to spend his last days at home thanks to the superior medical and palliative care he received. We will keep this page open for a while so friends can make contributions toward his final medical bills.

Hello, we are Erika and Colin Gilliland; we are fundraising for our dear friend JT Maderich.

If you are friends with JT and Hara, you already know how lucky you are! They are the type of friends you can count on when you need help. Their home is full of love and joy. They are quick to share what they have with others, whether that is a kind word, advice, a place to crash in paradise, or a good laugh.

Now we are privileged to be able to return the favor.

JT has COPD. On July 4th, he came down with a lung infection. He passed out because he was unable to breathe on his own. Fortunately, the ambulance got him to the hospital in enough time. JT is stable and recovering but needs mechanical ventilation. Once discharged from the hospital, he will need a full-time nurse and medical equipment to help Hara care for him.

We started this fundraiser to help Hara and JT focus on his recovery, not the rapidly accumulating medical expenses. Every dollar or colones is one less thing our dear friends have to worry about during this stressful time. Please give what you can; it all helps!
