Help Judy and Mike after Thanksgiving fire.
Donation protected
Hello, I am Bryan, Judy’s son and I’m raising funds to help assist her and Mike in dealing with the aftermath of their thanksgiving night fire. At approximately 1am, Mom was asleep in bed and Mike was in the living room watching television. He started to smell something and went to investigate. At which time, he observed a fire about 3 feet in height. He managed to wake mom up and they got out of the house with the clothes they were wearing. She got to my house in a nightgown and no shoes. We’re all thankful Mike was awake, if the fire spread much more before they found out, I’m not sure they would have made it out. Unfortunately, their cat Skye did not make it out and his body was later recovered by firefighters.
The fire originated in my childhood bedroom/basement, but the entire house suffered significant smoke/soot damage.
Although they do have insurance, there are going to be a ton of expenses coming out of pocket.
Mom/Judy Hudson was a paraprofessional for the Fort Zumwalt School District for almost 35 years. She just retired this year, only to lose everything on Thanksgiving.
***Please don’t feel obligated to help, she’s not one to ask for money. I just thought I could try to help alleviate some of the stress and was asked by several people if a gofundme was set up.
