Help Judy get to Kenya with GirlGuiding ✈️

Hello or I should say Jambo.

My name is Judy Oliver and I would like to introduce you to you Gofundme Page . As some of you may know I have been selected to be one of the leaders from West Mercia who will be taking 9-10 girls aged 12-18 over to Kenya in 2026.

We will be in the Mombassa region. We will be visiting a local school, interacting with the children and young people. Doing a community project: this could be painting classrooms, cleaning, building, some basic construction. We will be spending time with the locals and the getting to know the GirlGuides, Scouts and the other units out there. This will be so special as being a Girl Guide Leader Myself. It’s one big family and sometimes I forget how big this organisation when we have a chance to go International.

During the duration of the trip, we will be seeing the burial site of Lord Baden Powell and his Wife Olave Baden Powell. When I found out when I was selected for this trip of a lifetime. I started to cry . Imagine going to a place where it means so much to you and paying respects.

Guiding has been in my family for a long time and knowing I get to go to the burial site of the founders of Girl Guides and Scouts.

We will be travelling around and we have the chance to go on safari. This is will be a chance for the girls to see some animals that they could only imagine seeing or in a zoo.

I am really looking forward to seeing the girls confidence and self esteem grow and know they are capable of anything!
