Help Jules Dance In Stuttgart and Houston
Jules knows exactly what he wants to be... a ballet dancer... dancing on stages worldwide - simply displaying the passion he has for performing.....
As parents we get to see this passion everyday,
and can't wait to see where his love for dancing
takes him.
We're hoping that one day you too will see him perform - on stage . And hopefully (one day) with a famous ballet company!
We don't have a crystal ball but with your support we hope to help him achieve his goals. Above: Jules dancing his way around Australia, 2017 (Lake Torrens, SA)
After recently attending the semi finals of the YAGP competition in Brisbane, Jules was offered two scholarships to train with both theJohn Cranko Schule of Ballet (Stuttgart, Germany) and the Houston Ballet Academy (USA).
These scholarships are short term and require him to be in Germany and/or Houston for a period of time to train with both ballet academies and to experience what it's like to live/train full-time with other talented and like-minded ballet students.
Jules was one of only a few chosen for scholarships to attend training because both directors of John Cranko and Houston Ballet (in attendance at Brisbane) saw potential.
As parents, we've witnessed his growth and dedication as a ballet dancer since he was nine.... and would love for Jules to experience both these opportunities as a stepping stone to achieving his ultimate dream.. of becoming a professional male ballet dancer!
The funds will be used for travel expenses to get to/from both academies and accommodation whilst attending training.
We are aiming to send Jules to Germany in February, 2019 and would also like to send him to Houston in August, 2019 . Attending the Houston Scholarship opportunity will be dependant on funds available. Jules already knows two boys who train in Stuttgart -
which is why we've prioritised Germany as his first option. Above: Jules performing lyrical routine at Brisbane Eistedfodd, 2018
Both ballet companies are world renowned and hire students that are trained for their Ballet Companies to perform worldwide. If
you've watched the movie Mao's Last Dancer , you would be familiar with the
story of Li Cunxin and his journey to becoming one of the greatest male ballet dancers in history. He too performed as a Principle Dancer with the Houston Ballet Company before marrying an Australian Ballerina and moving to Australia where he’s now the
Artistic Director of the Queensland Ballet. Above: Jules training with the Queensland Ballet Academy, 2018
Jules has always known what he wants to be.....
And as his family, we'd love for you to help him work towards achieving this one day.
You can read more about his story here . Much Love... Chris, Jen, Josie and Jules x
