Help Julia and Family as She Battles Cancer

A dear friend to my mom (Wendy McKinnon) and I, Julia, was devastatingly diagnosed with stomach cancer and she has since started treatment. My heart is absolutely broken for her and her family and I wanted to organize this fundraiser to help.
Julia and her husband, Lou, live in Regina with their 4 year old daughter, Emily. Lou also has children from a previous marriage who he provides financial support for. Julia moved here from Vietnam 6 years ago, leaving her parents and extended family, and they purchased their first home 2 years ago in Regina. Julia loves spending time outdoors in her garden in the summertime with her daughter planting and tending to her beautiful flowers. I always admire how beautiful her garden is. Julia is self-employed as an esthetician and her husband’s job was greatly impacted by covid and he was recently laid off, so they have been solely relying on her income to support them. Now that she is sick and going through treatment, she is unable to work and her husband must stay home to take care of her and Emily. This illness is not only physically, mentally and emotionally consuming for her and her family, but it is also providing yet another financial hardship in already tough times. Neither Julia nor Lou have extended family in Canada, so reaching out to family for help is not an option for them.
Julia is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know and for her to contract this illness breaks my heart. I cannot say enough good things about her and her family. My mom and I are starting this fundraiser to help them financially so they do not loose their house, can continue paying their bills, buying food, supporting his children and so Julia can focus her time and energy into healing so she can come out the other side of this - her daughter needs her mother. Julia’s own words are “I want to heal my health so that I can be close to my beloved daughter and take care of her until she grows a little more.” Julia is always out to help others and to make them happy, so please consider donating to give back to such a kind soul and if you cannot donate, please share so we can reach as many people as possible. MAY 2021 UPDATE:
Julia has been going through treatment for her cancer. She goes for chemo every two weeks and she has told me it makes her very tired. She has 10 more weeks of chemo and then at that point they will assess if she is a good candidate for surgery to try and remove as much of the stomach cancer as they can. Her family is still struggling financially and because of this she is pushing to work as much as she can but she still can't work enough to make ends meet. She needs to be taking this time to rest and heal, so please if you can, donate to this lovely family!
