Help Julia go on a Mission Trip
Donation protected
Hiiiii again!!!
This time I am here trying to help Lucas’s girlfriend, Julia, achieve her goal to join an educational mission trip… this would help her achieve her dream to become an immigration lawyer! Julia is a fantastic student at UCF, is already working at a law firm in Orlando, she is such a hard worker and this opportunity would be phenomenal for her!
Please read her application that made this trip possible! She now needs to have $2000 in order to join the team!

Please HELP ME HELP HER… HELP THEM!!
I have always wanted to be a lawyer, since I was 6 years old (it’s true, you can ask my mom). It wasn’t until I was 14, that my mom, my brother, and I moved to the United States. It was then that my interest in immigration
law and policies started to spark. I was fortunate enough that I came to the U.S. by plane, and under my mother’s student visa. I am so thankful we later were able to obtain a Green-Card though her O-1 Visa for Individuals with Extraordinary Abilities (she still brags about this). I honestly cannot imagine how my life would have unfolded if we had stayed in Brazil. Once I got into my major at UCF, you can imagine how excited I was when I saw there was an Immigration Law class available with Dr. Pons. The course made my interest in immigration even bigger, so much that along with classmates (that are my close friends now) we created Immigrant Justice Center at UCF (thank you Dr. Pons for helping us make it happen!). I felt like I finally found myself in this big school. I was placed in a group that shared the same interest as me: wanting to make a difference for people that weren’t as lucky as me and my family, and perhaps did not get here legally by plane. It wasn’t until I started working for CPLS, P.A. in downtown Orlando, that I was 100% sure Immigration Law is where I belong. I started working there February of 2022 as a client services representative, and quickly started translating meetings for Brazilian clients who only spoke Portuguese. Most calls I translate at work are first consult calls between Attorney Evelyn Pabon and Brazilian families or individuals who have crossed the broder of Mexico and Texas or California and are seeking asylum. I had a reality shock hit me when clients were explaining the hardships they had to go through to try and provide a better future for themselves and children. This experience makes me want to apply myself even more in my studies to become an immigration lawyer and fight for every asylum-seeking case I see. To me, A Break For Impact is an amazing documentary that will continue to bring awareness of the border crisis in our country, and that is why it would be such an honor to be part of this project for the greater good.”
