Help Julia Johns Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
In early April, our darling ray of light Julia Johns was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. Luckily, she caught it early, but she tested positive for the BRCA gene, which calls for more invasive surgery. What we were hoping would be a routine lumpectomy has turned into a double-mastectomy scheduled for early June.
While certain costs will be covered by insurance, Julia will have to take on additional medical fees, including co-pays for appointments and medications, an increase in her insurance premiums, and costs associated with freezing her eggs. She will also face up to two months in lost wages while she recovers from surgery, and hopes to be able to cover travel fare and make accommodations for her family members, so they can stay with her while she’s on the mend.
This is where we come in! Our goal is to make sure Julia can go through this already-taxing process without the additional stress of worrying about finances. Cancer sucks but let’s do what we can to make Julia feel as taken care of as possible during this shitty time. She’s always there for us - now we want to be there for her!
Please contribute if you can; no amount is too small (or large!). Also, we hope you’ll share this page with your communities and spread the word. And finally, please remember to check yo’ titties! Early detection can make a huge difference, like it did for Julia.
