Help Julian, provide stability after back surgery

Hi, my name is Lydia, I am fundraising on behalf of my life long friend Julian. We have grown up together and I have watched Julian overcome many obstacles while supporting and prioritizing others.

Recently Julian was severely injured at work. He was initially misdiagnosed and immobilized for 3 months, living in incredible pain. 2 weeks ago he was seen at Lehigh Valley Hospital and had emergency spinal surgery. He is currently recovering at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center, learning to walk again.

Julian already has a lot of responsibility for a 21 year old. Prior to his injuries he has been a major provider and caregiver to his physically disabled mother. They work together to keep a stable home and accomplish day to day tasks. He doesn’t only have the stress of a difficult recovery ahead to worry about, he worries about his mother’s well-being, since he is not physically able to help her. He has financial burden from loss of income that threatens their home and food security.

All of these factors are causing Julian a great deal of anxiety and worry that is impacting his ability to heal. Julian is one of the strongest and most positive people I know. His ability to overcome hard situations is inspiring. This situation has been truly testing on Julian’s mind and body. I know that taking some of the financial burden off of him would allow him to focus on healing. He would never personally ask for help, so I am doing it for him.
