Help Julie Fight Leukemia (AML)
Donation protected
On Monday, April 25th, 2022 Julie was admitted to the hospital with an infection that needed to be treated with IV antibiotics. After getting abnormal lab results, she was told she would need a bone marrow biopsy to check for leukemia. Just hearing those words is enough to take your breath away. On Tuesday, April 26th it was confirmed by the bone marrow biopsy that Julie does in fact have Acute Myeloid Leukemia. On Wednesday, April 27th a port was placed and chemotherapy was started. Julie received 7 days of continous IV chemotherapy. After finishing with the "Induction" chemotherapy it was found that the sub-types of Leukemia that Julie has are harder to treat so she had to start 2 weeks of oral chemotherapy. After these two weeks she will need to wait another 7-10 days to see what the next course of treatment will be. She has been told that it will most likely be the need for a bone marrow transplant. Julie has started this battle with a positive attitude, grace, and as always a sense of humor.
As Julie goes through this intensive treatment she will remain in the hospital. If or when she can return to work is unknown. Altough she has some sick time and good health insurance it will not be enough to financially get her through this battle with leukemia. My hope is that we can raise enough so Julie does not have the stress of financial burdens and can focus on her health, treatment and recovery. There have been so many people that have reached out and asked if there is any way they can help. Any donation will help, and will be greatly appreciated. Please say prayers that Julie's battle with this is as smooth as possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued love and support.
