Help Junaid Seedat (Jin), throat cancer diagnosis
Jin, and his family, live in South Africa. For the last year and a half, basically during the Covid Pandemic, South Africa has been under very severe lockdown, with severe punishment for violation of protocols. The masses are forbidden to go outside, unless it's for emergencies or an abrupt grocery run, which are monitored. This of course means that he, along with so many others, lost their jobs. He has been applying daily for jobs, using their version of "temp service", and still nothing. I, along with a few other friends here in the states, have been sending him money to help keep him and his family from both being evicted and for groceries. There have been many days/nights with him calling me and him completely grief stricken because his son, Keenan, is sick and they can't buy meds, or eviction is coming, or anything that happens in daily life. For a man to ask for help like this is so hard, pride crushingly difficult. We tell him it's ok. There is literally nothing he can do. To us, 50 bucks for a night out would set his family right for a month.
Then, when I think it can't get any worse, he tells me that he went to see his doctor because he felt this little knot, just to the side of his larynx. He was told it could be a type of throat cancer, or a couple other things, but they just don't know without doing a proper diagnosis. That means seeing a specialist, and as soon as possible.
I was wrong, it can get worse.
So, the cost of seeing and getting this diagnosed is $630.00 USD. I can't afford that, at this moment. My friends and I can put a significant dent in it, but not all of it. So, I'm asking for anyone reading this, ANYTHING will help. $1.00 on up. Anything. I'm putting $100. in my self. Jin, his family, and myself would greatly appreciate any help, at all.
