Support Justin and Scott's Battle with Cancer
Donation protected
This fundraiser is being set up for Justin Ryan by Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson of UFMCC and LGBTQ Christian music artist, Marsha Stevens-Pino.
For the past two decades, Justin Ryan has been on a journey, traveling across the nation and singing in churches that embrace the LGBTQ+ community and helping dozens of other queer Christian artists to let their voices be heard However, his touring days have been put on hold as he now focuses on caring for his husband, Scott, who is battling a very aggressive form of colorectal cancer. Despite this difficult time, Justin remains steadfast in sharing the story of God’s love through his online series, "Southern Gospel Sissy," on platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
The Reverend Elder Nancy Wilson and LGBT Christian artist Marsha Stevens-Pino have joined forces to create a page to help with the upcoming expenses as Scott's cancer has progressed to Stage 4, metastasizing to his liver. Because of this distressing news, planned surgery in Nashville (to remove Scott’s prostate, bladder and colon) has been delayed as they explore alternative treatment options, adding to the weight of their situation. While hope and faith guide them, there are moments of darkness and tears as they navigate through this challenging chapter.
Amidst the despair, there are glimpses of God's light shining through. A biopsy result led to an expedited appointment at MD Anderson in Houston, fast-tracking Scott's new surgical consultation. It is in these moments that they see the intricate workings of God's plan, providing reassurance that God’s grace will prevail.
As they prepare for Scott's tests and treatments in Houston, the couple relies on the prayers and support of their community. The financial strain is significant, with both Scott and Justin needing to take FMLA leave (without pay) from work. Donations made through the page will directly assist them with medical and daily expenses, alleviating some of the burden during this challenging time.
Your prayers and generosity serve as a source of comfort and hope for Scott and Justin as they navigate through this trying period. Despite the darkness that surrounds them, the outpouring of love and support acts as a beacon of light, guiding them through their darkest hours.
