Send Justin Burnett to Worlds for Team USA

Hi everyone! I'm Justin Burnett and I come from a small suburb of Atlanta called Stone Mountain, Georgia. Last week I received the incredible news that I am one of the 24 guys selected to represent the United States of America at the World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) in Malmo, Sweden in July! That was a simultaneously electrifying, terrifying, fulfilling, and humbling moment for me, as I realized that out of hundreds of amazing applicants, I had been chosen.  However, my story doesn't begin there. My journey to the WJUC  and the reason I am asking for all of your support with this journey started much earlier.
6 years ago I was introduced to Ultimate. There I found my true passion and love for a sport, but I also found so much more! In Ultimate, I found a tight-knit, accepting community filled with great players, and coaches.  I found positive, encouraging team environments. I found a sport that is built around a principle of Spirit of the Game. I resolved early on, that at some point, I would make an impact playing Ultimate and would represent the USA, somehow, some way.

In the years since, I have been blessed to have benefited from amazing coaches and teammates year after year, both in the high school season, and then playing with the very best from rival schools during the youth club season.  I have grown as a person and a player, culminating in the 2019 Youth Club Championships, where I was able to represent Atlanta well and also show on a national stage what I was capable of. Building off of that and with recommendations from my awesome coaches, I received an invite to try out for the USA U20 Men's National Team. In November, I went and gave my all at a grueling 2-day tryout in North Carolina.  Then commenced the suspense, until last week.

That's been my journey to this point, but this trip is far from over! I couldn't have made it this far without so much selfless support from my coaches and especially my parents. They have supported me financially and emotionally in the pursuit of my dreams since day one. Now, they are supporting my education at my dream school of Emory University. Earlier, I mentioned how learning I made the team was terrifying. That was because I was required giving a decision and committing to this team without any assurance of how I could pay for this opportunity. Emory is expensive and my parents simply cannot fund this trip like they have others. I have been working the past year and will continue to work, but this from team dues to airfare, this trip will cost thousands of dollars that we simply do not have right now.

The cost breakdown goes like this.
$1340-1540 for team fees/dues
$650 for team practice weekend
$2000-2200 for transportation (to/from training camp and worlds)

Our team fees are due January 31st, which means we need at least $1300 by the end of January to make this opportunity possible.

So I am asking you to join me on this amazing journey and help me reach the next destination: World Championships! Any gift helps, as much or as little you give will be equally as valuable to me and my family. Even by simply sharing this campaign in your circles, you can help to raise awareness and join with me to take my love and passion for ultimate international and make my family, my Atlanta community, and America proud.

Thank you so much!
