Help Justin get a new Hip.

Hi my name is Justin.

You may have noticed I have not been climbing or have been as active as I normally am.

The reason is, my hip needs replacing(Osteo Arthritis).(Currently waiting 2.5 yrs public system)

It has been wearing down the last 10 years. Very painful the last 5 years. I am no longer able to do most types of physical jobs at the moment.

The Arthritis is hereditary. My father got both hips replaced. But one of mine needs replacing 10 years before he got his first one replaced.

Anyone who knows me. I would have dragged you along on my missions to where ever. Climbing, surfing, riding, hiking, canyoning, developing and explorations looking for that next crag.

For me to continue doing those things I need a new hip.

My daily level of pain.

Without pain killers 9.5/10

With pain killers 7/10 (2 x Tramadol 100mg + 2 to 6 panadol osteo)

Things I can do now:

Walk 300m per day

Some kayaking

Stretches

Arm exercises

Light Swimming

Snorkelling

The adjustment to what I can do now has been very tough mentally.

Average cost of a Hip replacement $35,000

When I join a private health fund for a year and have operation the cost will be around $7000. This is drastically less than $35,000.
