Hi, my name is Brandon T, Justin's Friend
On August 23rd, Justin and his family received news that completely disoriented their lives. This all started about late June, during our phone call he would complain about a sudden onset of a headache that would not let up. Over the next 3 weeks, this headache manifested into something totally different. He visited the ER on 3 separate occasions with no resolution or proper diagnosis. On July 29th, He woke up frozen in bed with numb/tingling limbs and face. I feared for his life. Luckily his roommates were able to get an ambulance. After about close to a week laying in Kern Medical ER department with no admittance, day and night in excruciating pain, They were able to investigate his case. They started with a lumbar puncture. They were able to see that his pressures were abnormally high and his CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) was cloudy and possibly infected. So they tested it and found that he has a fungal meningitis in his spinal fluids. until they were able to relieve the pressure of his spinal fluid he would have to under go multiple lumbar puncture. From this point on they went on to test him for everything possible. After about a week or two, our close friend reminded him about these lumps he have under his armpits. So he mentioned the lumps to his infectious disease team. They ordered a biopsy right away. he went in for the biopsy several day after, and it went well. It took a long time for the results to come, during that time they continued to test for many things. these times were tough the "waiting game" the endless questions we ask ourselves with no real facts regarding his health it was scary to say the least After 26 days in the hospital, on August 23rd at around 6:40pm the doctor came to his room and stated: “You have cancer. Hodgkins Lymphoma. The good thing is that its treatable” From this point on, his life completely changed. MY Bestfriend, My dawg, My Right hand since the third grade he's been a beacon of positivity of laughter and selfless ness. It was hard listening to the pain and tears being caused but i was unable to do anything about it. This sickness from the start has thrown his life upside down, before his diagnosis, he had missed over a month of work. Now, he's had to let his job and team know that he won’t be returning and it was a pleasure working with them. He'll be having to relocate up north to be with his parents so that he can have all the help that he needs getting to and from hospital appointments and chemotherapy treatments. Chemotherapy is said by the oncologist to last 6 months. This has caused heavy financial strain on justin and his family. The time ahead this process will be very exhaustive and challenging emotionally, physically and financially. If you are able to help ease some of this burden and show support in any way, a pray or even a share, it would be greatly appreciated. please consider a donation and keep my friend (Justin Sosa) and the Sosa family in your prayers through this incredibly challenging time .
