Please help give the Heikes family some breathing room during this time of debilitating pain as they transition from a two-income to one-income household and start grief therapy and other supports to survive this immense, life-altering, devastating loss of Kaaren’s husband of 25 years and the girls’ Daddy 8/13/2024

John passed away suddenly on Friday, August 2nd. Our family is devastated, especially his wife Kaaren and their three amazing daughters Alyssa (20), Angel (17) and Elizabeth (13).

Those of you who knew and loved John knew his huge heart; his super-smarts, his awesome sense of humor and booming, infectious laugh; his culinary wizardry, his kindness and patience, but most of all his fierce and unwavering love for Kaaren and his girls. Alyssa, Angel, and Elizabeth are all “Daddy’s girls”

– and they are heartbroken.

Kaaren and the girls are being surrounded with love and support and many are asking how they can help. Once we get through these first horrible weeks, the practical realities will set in and they are going to need extra financial support. If you are able to help out, we would be so grateful. If not, we are thankful for your love and support in any way that feels right to you.

We don’t have plans yet for a memorial or celebration of John’s life but will share more after that is settled.
