Help Kai Get Essential New Glasses

Hullo, I'm Kai, and my eyes are terrible.

As a result of said terrible eyes, my glasses are...well, they're quite specialised and quite expensive. And unfortunately, the frame style I chose last time seems incredibly prone to a specific defect, which is that of breaking randomly in half at the bridge completely unprovoked in any way. This is the second time this style's done this to me and I don't qualify for free replacement from my optician's as a result, so...it's time for a new pair.

Which leads us to problem two: the price. As mentioned, they're quite expensive. This last pair, which I also stupidly chose not to get anti-reflect or anti-scratch coating on the lenses so as to bring the price down, was nearly $900.

This time, unfortunately, I'm going to have to get those coatings as well (who would have thought it's easier to see out of lenses that aren't constantly reflecting light?) which is going to drive the price up, so I'm looking at probably roughly a thousand dollars for new glasses. It may be less, it may be more, I can't exactly say for sure till I go in to order them and I actually need the funds on hand to do that, but this is an educated guess of a ballpark figure given what I do know from getting the last pair.

(I am fairly sure the optician's will do a payment plan - I'm going to talk to them about it - but iirc it's half the price upfront and the rest when the glasses actually come in, so I'd still need about $500 to even get started.)

I do have a backup pair but they're about a decade old at this point, and I will at some point be getting a refill on my contact lenses but I do not currently have the means for that either, so anything that anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
