Help Kaiba the Blue and Gold

Hello everyone.

Kaiba, the macaw, is sick.

Third update: Kaiba had passed away. I thank everyone who has helped, paying off the vet bills will take a while but every little bit yall gave helps, still got over 3k in bills I have to pay off. Some of the money will be going towards his Necropsy. The doctors would like to figure out what the cause of the abscess was and to hopefully benefit a macaw in the future from going through what Kaiba died so quickly from. 

as a second update there’s a good chance he won’t make it through the weekend. Surgery and a blood transfusion are risky at probably less than a 25% survival rate but the abscess is killing him. A transfusion could also kill the donor bird. I’m making him comfortable and praying the antibiotics bring the inflammation down and surgery can be a better option than death.

AS AN UPDATE. Kaiba has an abscess on his liver. His entire gastrointestinal tract is enflamed from the gas the abscess is producing, it is unknown yet if it is cancer or bacteria. Trying meds first, if it doesn’t shrink, removing the access is the only option…. The abscess along with the pocket of air and blood is the size of his head.

He’s been sluggish, barely eating or drinking, and is severely anemic and lacking in proteins. He has somehow lost 100 grams in the past month and with feathers… it was hard to tell.

He’s had several X-rays and is receiving the best care he can from Kensington Bird and Animal hospital with the asistance of Pieper Memorial.

Pet insurance won’t be covering most of this. I’m trying my best.

I don’t really know where to start. I know many of you are very fond of him. He has made a big impact on my life and the lives of many others. He’s my world. I hope he can get through this. 

I’m hoping that this can help pay for his testings, medications, hospitalization and anything he possibly needs right now if he makes it through this!! It’ll go to whatever payment plan for the services he gets I’m keeping receipts for everything.
